Cappadocia is a joint creation of Nature and Human Reseurcefulness. The term Cappadocia is Persian for the "land of beautiful horses". It is an enchanting open-air museum and an unparalleled example of the common cultural heritage of humanity. Centered on the triangle of Nevşehir, Ürgüp and Avanos, Cappadocia is in the middle of a once active volcanic region.

At the time when Anatolia was completing its geographical evolution, these volcanic eruptions were so strong that the lava in some places was up to 100 meters thick. Over many millions of years, volcanoes, wind, rain and ice sculpted what we know as Cappadocia. As the land eroded, the basalt stones remained and formed conical structures sometimes reaching as high as 45 meters.

The local people called these unique rock formations "Fairy Chimneys", a name that has endured throughout ages If nature wast the first artist to arrange the decor, it was Anatolian man who over the centuries carved the rocks and built houses, churches and over 120 underground cities.

The largest of these, Özkonak, once had a population of sixty thousand. The canyon formed by the Melendiz stream, which has pierced its way through the rocks, is called the Ihlara Valley. In this 14 km long valley there are 105 churches and 4535 houses.

Marmaris - Muğla - Turkey

With our custom-designed trailer we are ready to take you and the bikes anywhere, although we have some favorites we would like to share with you.

We select routes according to the season and do not force you to pedal up hill (much) in the hottest months!

The best times of year for biking are spring (April-June) and autumn (September and October)

On all trips we provide bikes, helmets and an English-speaking guide.

Yuvarlak River one-day

Ideal for those based in the Dalyan area. We follow irrigation channels past village houses and fruit orchards and slowly wind uphill on tracks where we are unlikely to meet another vehicle.

There are opportunities to cool off in streams but you are sure to swim at lunch time while you wait for your tasty meal to be cooked. There is a lot of down hill in the afternoon.

Gökova Explorer one-day

Ideal for those based in the Marmaris or Akyaka areas. The Gökova area has a wide variety of rural landscapes to enjoy, from the eucalyptus avenues, sesame fields and traditional villages of the plain, to the shady pine forests and limestone crags of the surrounding hills.

Marmaris - Muğla - Turkey

South-west Turkey is not just a summer destination; in winter it also has a lot to offer outdoor-lovers in search of action, adventure and an escape from city life.

The Western Taurus mountain range extends west into Mugla province, and there are two mountains in this region suitable for winter sports, Mount Sandras (2294m) and Mount Eren (2677m). Both have good snow cover between December and April.

Our tours

We offer guided ski-touring and snow-shoeing tours of differing lengths for groups of up to 12 people. Accommodation is in village houses or camping, depending on the route and conditions.

What is ski touring? (also known as ski-randonee, ski mountaineering, and alpine touring)

A way of exploring the winter mountain landscape on skis, without the aid of ski lifts - so its an ideal way of discovering the beauty of mountains far away from busy ski-resorts. Special ski equipment is used that allows you to climb slopes on you skis, as well as skiing down them.

What is snow-shoeing?

Wide, specially designed plastic snow-shoes are strapped to your normal walking boots to allow you to walk on snow without sinking. For those without ski touring equipment, its the perfect way to go hiking in the snow. We provide snow shoes for those who don’t have their own ski-touring equipment.

Mt. Eren (2.677m)
Mount Eren i.s located near the town of Seki, 74 km north-east of Fethiye. As it is higher than Mount Sandras, the higher slopes are unforested, allowing wide views in all directions. We can also enjoy the hospitality and conversation of the local people in Temel Village. This region is suitable for tours of 1 to 5 days.

Mt. Sandras (2.294m)
Mount Sandras is located to the north of the town of Köyceğiz, which is just 30 minutes drive from Dalaman airport. Tours start from the mountain village of Ağla, from where there are wonderful views over Köycegiz Lake. This region is suitable for 1-day and weekend tours. The slopes are clad with fresh-smelling pine forests, and during our trip we may visit one or both of the beautiful lakes here. The highest slopes are forested with ancient specimens of a rare variety of cedar tree.
